Why Skin Supplements?

Our body produces 200 million skin cells every hour, making it essential to nourish the skin with a nutrient-rich diet. While the body prioritises key organs, it eventually delivers these nutrients to the skin. A 2006 British Journal of Nutrition study revealed the benefits of feeding the skin from within, inspiring Advanced Nutrition Programme™ to create evidence-based supplements. For over 14 years, we've developed supplements that combine vitamins, minerals, and nutrients for optimal skin health. Learn more about our approach to synergy, absorption, and our four Ps: production, purity, potency, and packaging, along with our sustainability commitment.

In a world where we are faced with so many options, the four pillars of the Advanced Nutrition Programme™ eloquently exemplify our point of difference and unique approach to supplementation.

The process from science to skin involves rigorous research, formulation internal trials and manufacturing facility certification. All Advanced Nutrition Programme™ products are traceable and made in the UK at GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified facilities to pharmaceutical standards. Our sophisticated climate-controlled packing plant is registered with the USA FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and Health Canada organisations.

Advanced Nutrition Programme™ exceeds industry requirements and expectations regarding food supplements.

Working with a team of nutritional and pharmaceutical experts, Advanced Nutrition Programme™ produce supplements that work in effective, safe and legal dosages that deliver results.  We only produce supplements that our validated by science and work.

Our supplements are backed by evidence-based research and undergo a rigorous testing process by our Research & Development team at our Skin Health Centre. We analyse the effectiveness on skin integrity and additional parameters using Courage + Khazak equipment.

Advanced Nutrition Programme™ exceed industry expectations for food supplements by employing a pharmaceutical approach by triple testing before, during and after production. Our ingredients are scrupulously checked and screened for contaminants, heavy metals and pathogens with over 400 tests per batch. Additionally, our Research & Development team work arduously to ensure that these are ethically and sustainably sourced.

Working with specific suppliers, our team commit to the best quality and authentic sourcing of ingredients.  Skin Omegas+ eloquently exemplifies this commitment. These supplements are made with premium, scientifically researched omega-3 from EPAX, a world-leading supplier known for purity, quality and innovation. They hold a Friend of the Sea certificate, so you can be sure the omega-3 is sourced using methods that conserve marine habitats and resources. EPAX products are guaranteed to meet or exceed all known global purity standards.

We are an environmentally conscious brand, so our innovative packaging is made from recycled cards and printed with eco-friendly vegetable inks. Our products are good for the environment and for your skin.

Science of Skin

The skin is one of the largest organs in the body in surface area and weight. An understanding of skin biology and structure helps showcase how nutrition plays a pivotal role in skin health. Human skin consists of two main layers: the epidermis and the dermis. Beneath the dermis lies the hypodermis and subcutaneous fatty tissue.

  • The epidermis is the relatively thin, tough and outer layer of the skin. The epidermis (along with other layers of the skin) protects the internal organs, muscles, blood vessels and nerves against trauma.
  • In contrast, the dermis is a thick layer of fibrous and elastic tissue (made mostly of collagen, with a small but important component of elastin) which gives the skin its flexibility and strength. The dermis contains nerve endings, sweat glands and oil (sebaceous) glands, hair follicles and blood vessels.
  • Below the dermis lies a layer of fat that helps insulate the body from heat and cold, provides protective padding and serves as an energy storage area. The fat is contained in living cells, called fat cells, held together by fibrous tissue.

The skin has three main functions: protectionregulation and sensation.

The primary function of the skin is to act as a protective barrier. The skin keeps vital chemical and nutrients in the body while providing a barrier against dangerous substances from entering the body. It also provides a shield from the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation emitted by the sun.

The skin is an organ of regulation. The skin regulates several aspects of physiology including: body temperature via sweat and hair, and changes in peripheral circulation and fluid balance via sweat. It also acts as a reservoir for the synthesis called vitamin D.

The skin is an organ of sensation. The skin contains an extensive network of nerve cells that detect and relay changes in the environment. There are separate receptors for heat, cold, touch and pain.

Our journey to becoming a clean label

Advanced Nutrition Programme™ is committed to the environment and on a continuous journey to clean label. The Managing Director, David Alpert, is a passionate marine photographer who, appalled by the evidential damage to the marine ecosystem took the decision to re-brand the Advanced Nutrition Programme™ range and introduce 100% environmentally friendly, recycled and recyclable paper-based packaging in 2017.

In addition, Alpert insists on plant-based ingredients where possible, full traceability of ingredients, purified fish oils and heavily invested in building a sophisticated climate-controlled packaging environment to ensure highest quality control of products within the range.

Our brand ‘paper sculpture’ illustration demonstrates the key elements of the Advanced Nutrition Programme™ story. It features components representing science, sustainability and ingredients, three core cornerstones of our brand. The illustration is depicted on our packaging, our communications and brings the brand story to life.
